Dr Olivia Twigg is a clinical psychologist with special interests in
the role of negative social perceptions about pain and interrelationships with self-concept, psychological well-being, and unhelpful pain cognitions.

Dr Twigg completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the Australian National University, following a Bachelor of Psychology where she was the recipient of First Class Honours with University Medal. Olivia’s PhD thesis explored the psychosocial aspects of persistent pain. As such, she is particularly interested in the role of negative social perceptions about pain and interrelationships with self-concept, psychological well-being, and unhelpful pain cognitions. More broadly, Olivia has experience working in a variety of hospital and community settings with people who face difficulties such as adapting to illness and pain, anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, sleep problems, and aging. Her approach to sessions is patient-focused, with a compassionate and empathetic style that aims to help people build a life worth living and feel more confident and empowered to manage their pain. Olivia maintains a keen interest in research and has published several articles in international journals.
