Josh McCarthy completed his studies in 2012 at the University of Canberra. Since graduating he has gained valuable experience running cardiac rehabilitation programs, conducting early postoperative hydrotherapy following spinal, hip and knee surgery, and heading athletic performance at Eastlake Cricket Club.
Enjoying all aspects of exercise physiology, Josh has a particular interest in pre and post surgical rehabilitation, chronic pain management, and assisting individuals to achieve their goals through lifestyle modification. In 2013 and 2015 he was the recipient of the ‘Exercise Physiologist of the Year’ award in recognition of his commitment to the profession, and his continual desire to provide best practice to his clients.
Josh takes a holistic approach to the treatment and management of injuries and chronic conditions utilising various exercise modalities in order to correct biomechanics, improve core stabilisation and develop functional strength for a return to daily activities. Taking a client-centred approach, exercise programs incorporate patient education and self-management skills necessary for optimising on going independence.
