Martina is a German physiotherapist with postgraduate qualifications from Curtin University, Perth and 22 years of clinical experiences working with persistent pain patients. With expert knowledge in the field of physiology of pain and as a member of an interdisciplinary case-management team, Martina is an enthusiastic educator with 20 years of regular teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in Australia, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany.

Martina is a committed member of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) and regularly has publications in textbooks and scientific journals. Most recently being instrumental in establishing a ‘Specialised Pain Physiotherapy’ Course through the Special Interest Group ‘Pain and Movement’ with the German Pain Association.

Since relocating to Melbourne in December 2013, Martina has maintained annual teaching commitments with La Trobe University, and Neuro-Orthopaedic Institute (NOI), Adelaide, for the courses ‘Explain Pain’ and ‘Graded Motor Imagery’. Martina was granted “APA Titled Pain Physiotherapist” by the Australian Physiotherapy Association in 2019. She is also a Yoga teacher (accredited by the Australian Yoga Academy), which she blends into her exercise based rehabilitation as required.
