At the Brain and Spine Tumour Clinic at Precision Brain Spine and Pain Centre we provide expert care of patients with benign (non-cancerous) and malignant (cancerous) brain and spinal tumours.
These conditions include:
- Primary brain tumours, such as gliomas (for example glioblastoma multiforme or GBM)
- Meningiomas
- Metastases
- Spinal tumours, such as ependymomas, meningiomas, schwannomas, and neurofibromas
The most up-to-date brain scans and other imaging techniques are utlilised in to define the location, extent and likely nature of the brain or spinal tumour. The full range of treatment options are then discussed, including the potential benefits and risks of each approach. You will then be in the best position to make an informed decision about what type of treatment to have.
Some tumours are located in regions where they cannot be safely removed using traditional neurosurgical techniques. In many cases these may be amenable to Stereotactic Radiosurgery, which does not involve a surgical operation.
